Look on the bright side of life with sparkling windows

March 26, 2015

Spring is finally here and to enjoy all of its beauty, clean and sparkling windows are essential.

Let the warm sunshine brighten your home, open the windows and use our quick tips to make your window washing a breeze this year.

Use the right product

Traditional glass and window cleaners are often ammonia based. Ammonia is a harsh irritant to your lungs and can continue to off gas long after the product was used. Skip the harmful chemicals and go back-to-basics by opting for a much safer vinegar based product. Our Bright Side glass and surface cleaner not only uses vinegar but also Tea Tree and Eucalyptus essential oils. These oils fight off mold and mildew that can start to appear around windows this time of year and are also great for keeping away insects that try and find their way indoors.

Have the right tools ready

Our favorite window cleaning tool is a microfiber cloth. Skip paper towel as a cloth can really help you scrub away tough smudges and blotches without damaging the glass. We have also heard from our fellow optimists that they stand by using newspaper or a squeegee. Let us know your preference in the comments.
